Pattern Energy chief executive Mike Garland dismissed concerns Monday about drifting timelines at two high-profile projects in Japan, including the country’s first offshore wind farm, while revealing that the US-based renewables yieldco is looking to push into deeper waters at future offshore projects.

In its third-quarter financial results reported Monday, Pattern said that its 100MW Sumita onshore wind project in Japan is now due on line in 2022 – a year later than it indicated only last quarter.
