The 496MW bottom-fixed Yeu and Noirmoutier Islands wind project off the French Atlantic coast has edged closer to construction after gaining maritime use and environmental permits from the Vendée Prefecture.

Developer Eoliennes en Mer Iles d’Yeu et de Noirmoutier (EMYN) – a consortium between French and Portuguese utilities Engie and EDPR, as well as the Banque des Territoires – can now proceed with calls to tender for subcontractors to manufacture and install components, Engie said.
