Germany’s E.ON is undertaking its largest wind repowering project globally, and its first in the US, tapping GE to upgrade the 258MW Panther Creek wind farms in west Texas, as the repowering market continues to gain steam in the US.

The Panther Creek I and II projects were built using GE 1.5MW turbines and brought on line in 2008, meaning they have run through their ten years of production tax credits (PTCs).
