Surging renewables revenues fueled by new capacity helped Spanish energy giant Iberdrola boost operating profits at the nine-month stage of 2018.

Iberdrola increased production in all its global territories as renewables output grew by 30% in the nine months to September, compared with the same period in 2017.

That drove revenues up by the same percentage to €3bn ($3.43bn) for the first nine months, with the Iberdrola renewables operation delivering a 38% increase in operating profits (Ebitda) to €1.76bn.
