California offshore wind auction could come by 2020: BOEM

The US federal government could hold a lease auction for California offshore wind development zones as soon as spring 2020, following the publication today of a Call for Information and Nominations intended to clarify who is interested in developing projects and what impediments there may be.

The Interior Department’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) “could see a lease auction in as early as 18 months”, a spokesperson confirmed to Recharge.
