Chinese players continue to dominate wind asset ownership, with global leader and newly-created behemoth CHN Energy holding 34GW – more than twice the total turbine base of Spain’s Iberdrola, according to research group Wood Mackenzie Power & Renewables.

The scale of the fleet under CHN Energy – created by the merger last year of Chinese giants Shenhua and Guodian – reflects the dominance of China’s wind operators, which account for 113GW of the 208GW total assets held by the world’s top 25 global owners, said Wood Mackenzie.
