NextEra Energy Resources has secured a 15-year corporate wind power-purchase agreement with Iron Mountain Inc. for 145MW of the planned 220MW Pretty Prairie wind farm in Kansas.
NextEra, North America’s largest generator of wind and solar power, will build, own and operate Pretty Prairie, due on line by the end of 2019 in Reno County.
Iron Mountain, a large player in the data storage and information technology market, has signed a number of renewables PPAs with developers including Lincoln Clean Energy, both in the US and Europe, and is on track to exceed 75% of its global power usage from renewables in 2018.
