EDF Renewables North America has selected MHI Vestas Offshore Wind as the preferred supplier for its Nautilus Offshore Wind project that will feature three V164-8.3 MW turbines located in shallow New Jersey state waters facing Atlantic City.

EDF’s commitment is the first obtained by the vendor for its V164-8.3 MW turbines in the fast-emerging US offshore wind market.

The developer anticipates the project will be operational as soon as 2020, although it does not have a green light from regulators at the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, which is weighing the application submitted last month.
