EDP Renewables will begin construction of three wind farms in the US states of Illinois and Indiana after finalizing three power purchase agreements totaling 233MW with giant retailer Walmart.
EDPR said the arrangement includes Walmart procuring 123MW of capacity from the future 205MW Bright Stalk wind farm in Illinois scheduled for 2019 operation; 60MW from the 200MW Headwaters wind farm in Indiana (2020), and 50MW from the 200MW Broadlands facility in Indiana (2019).
