The Canadian province of Saskatchewan will soon announce the winner of its first competitive wind tender, worth up to 200MW, a spokesperson for utility SaskPower tells Recharge.

Following neighbouring Alberta’s embrace of an ambitious renewables target and new system of recurring renewables tenders, Saskatchewan established its own 50% renewable power target several years back – and last year opened its first request for proposal for wind projects.
