The wind investment fund of Finnish utility Fortum and Russian group Rusnano has signed a non-binding cooperation agreement with Russia’s Kalmykia region to build up to 450MW of wind power through 2021.

The capacity is part of 1.8GW won by the investment partnership in Russian wind power auctions this year and in 2017.

Fortum-Rusnano has said it will take separate investment decisions for each project in the pipeline.
