The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) has awarded wind turbine test stands at its Østerild and Høvsøre sites to Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE), Envision, GE and Vestas, as the Nordic country speeds up efforts to develop machines that won't need government support.

The tender round was for two new test stands in Østerild with permission to erect up to 330-metre-high turbines, as well as two new stands and a re-hire of an existing berth in Høvsøre for up to 200-metre-high machines.
