Goldwind claimed a “critical milestone” for its considerable ambitions in North America as the Chinese group’s 160MW Rattlesnake Wind Project started operations in Texas backed by “world-class” tax-equity financing.

The wind group’s Goldwind Americas unit said the closing of the finance from Berkshire Hathaway’s BHE Renewables and Citi is a vote of confidence in the bankability of Rattlesnake’s 2.5MW permanent-magnet direct-drive (PMDD) turbines.
