Global onshore wind leader Vestas has announced 400 job cuts in a move it said reflects “a shift in growth from more traditional wind markets to high-growth markets primarily outside of Europe”.

About three-quarters of the cuts will come in northern and central Europe and are mainly expected to affect white collar staff. The main impact on Vestas’s production base will be felt at its converter factory in Hammel, Denmark, where about 80 posts will be shed as the facility moves to a more research-based role.
