French energy group Engie unveiled plans to advance 2GW of wind power in India under a joint venture with investment fund STOA that includes ambitions to enter the country’s fledgling offshore sector.

Engie and STOA, a French infrastructure investor, said the JV aims to develop the capacity over the next five years.

“The scope will be both onshore and offshore wind projects under central and select state tenders,” said a statement announcing the partnership.
