Canadian energy infrastructure giant Enbridge is on track to take a final investment decision (FID) on its long-gestating 350MW Havsul offshore wind farm off Norway “in the coming months”, according to company divisional director Martin Langham.

The project, which would be built using 40 ultra-large turbines mated to concrete gravity base foundations (GBFs) in some 30 metres of water, would be in the frame to be Norway’s first offshore wind farm, if brought online as currently scheduled in 2021/22.
