South Africa aims to add 8.1GW of new wind and 5.7GW of PV to its power mix by 2030, said energy minister Jeff Radebe in a draft of the country’s long-awaited Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) that he said would need to take account of lower-than-expected electricity demand and ditches previous plans for nuclear expansion.
