Private equity fund manager African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM) has acquired majority stakes, totalling 800MW, in nine new wind and solar projects in South Africa.
The projects are expected to be fully operational by the end of 2020, and deliver 2,425GWh of electricity annually to South Africa’s national power grid, preventing around 2.4m tonnes of carbon emissions from fossil fuel power plants per annum.
