Sales, earnings and turbine production remained below the previous year’s level in the first half of 2018 at wind OEM Nordex, but chief executive José Luis Blanco expects a stronger second half of the year led by international orders and says cost cutting measures are on track.
“While the order situation in the wind energy sector in our home market of Germany continued to stagnate, Nordex secured the company’s largest-ever individual order of 595MW in Brazil and received an order for over 147MW in South Africa,” Blanco told investors in the earnings report.
