The federal US government says it plans to auction off two large offshore wind development zones south of Massachusetts by the end of 2018, potentially a few months later than previously expected.
Earlier this year the Interior Department’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) indicated the Massachusetts lease sale would take place by the end of September, but a spokesperson tells Recharge the auction is now “anticipated by the end of the calendar year”.
