China’s shift to auction-based procurement will drive up annual wind installations in the early and mid-2020s, according to analysts at MAKE.

The consultancy’s latest 10-year outlook for China says the abrupt shift from feed-in tariffs affect the addition of grid-connected capacity until 2020.

Once the new system is established, however, addition will increase between 2021 and 2027.

MAKE expects China to connect more than 20GW annually on average over the 10 years of the forecast period.
