The German onshore wind industry warned its government it won’t be able to help meet ambitious renewables targets without “stringent” policy backing – including additional tenders – as installations fall and the growth outlook darkens.

As expected, Germany’s gross onshore capacity growth slowed to 1.62GW in the first half of 2018, down 29% on the 2.28GW achieved in the same period of what ended up as a record-breaking 2017.
