Renewables profits at EnBW grew 8.1% in the first half of 2018, as the German utility starts building 609MW of offshore wind in the North Sea.

The year-on-year increase in adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation to €164.8m ($192m) was partly driven by new onshore coming online last year, the group said.

It also benefited from better hydro output, although EnBW’s offshore wind output saw a dip.
