Investor-owned utility holding company Dominion Energy later this summer will seek approval from state regulators for its proposed two-turbine, 12MW wind pilot in a federal lease area about 27-miles (43.4km) off the coast of Virginia Beach.
The project is being developed through a partnership with Orsted Energy and would be the first offshore wind facility in the Mid-Atlantic region of the US east coast.
