Eight OEMs with big ambitions in Chinese offshore wind will compete to impress the developer shaping up to lead the market, after China Three Gorges (CTG) completed installation of all 14 turbines at its Xinghua Bay pilot project off Fujian province.

With a total capacity of 77.4 MW, the pilot project marks CTG’s first offshore footprint in Fujian, set to be the next offshore wind hub in China after Jiangsu province with a target to put 2GW of capacity in its waters by 2020 and 5GW by 2030.
