Saudi Arabia booked bids as low as the equivalent of $21.3/MWh in its debut 400MW wind power tender, said officials.

The lowest offer – 0.08 riyals in local currency – came from France’s EDF, in a bid launched in partnership with Abu Dhabi’s Masdar.

It was one of four contenders vying to build the 400MW project at Dumat al-Jandal in the oil-rich kingdom’s northwestern al-Jouf province.
