GE Renewable Energy reported a sharp decline in revenues and profits during the second quarter on weak onshore wind turbine deliveries and soft – albeit improving – prices, but the company is counting on a looming US wind boom to help turn things around.

Paris-based GE-RE reported a profit of $82m in the March-June quarter, down 48% compared to the same three months last year, on revenues that fell 29% to $1.65bn.
