Macquarie's Green Investment Group (GIG) has tied up one of the world’s longest wind power PPAs, a 29-year deal with aluminium giant Norsk Hydro for output from the 235MW Örmiverturingen project in central Sweden.
The wind farm will use 56, 4.2MW turbines from Siemens Gamesa with a tip height of 220-metres, “placing them among Scandinavia’s tallest structures”, said a statement announcing a €270m ($313m) financial close for Överturingen.
