Bladt Industries has signed a deal for fabrication of the monopile foundations and transition pieces for the 224MW Northwester 2 project in Belgian waters.
Bladt had already secured a contract for the wind farm’s substation, and said the latest agreement with developer Parkwind and contractor Jan De Nul unifies the production of key components.
Denmark-based Bladt will begin preliminary work on the foundations in November this year, with a design optimisation process getting underway earlier to look for cost reduction opportunities.
