Greece selected 171MW across seven projects in its first onshore wind auction, with a weighted average power price coming in at a lower-than-expected €69.53/MWh ($81.37/MWh).

Five of the successful projects are controlled by Greek entities, with Iberdrola of Spain and Portugal’s EDPR securing one each.

The auction was the first foray by Greece into competitive wind procurement, and was oversubscribed with 308MW across 14 projects seeking a slice of the action.
