US electric utility Xcel Energy has formally purchased the 239-turbine, 478MW Hale Wind Project in the South Plains region of Texas from NextEra Energy Resources, a move that will enable construction to begin this month.
Financial terms of the transaction were not made public.
In March 2017, Xcel announced that it had entered into an agreement with NextEra to acquire the project as part of its 1.23GW
