Indonesia joined the global wind power club with the inauguration of its first project, the 75MW Sidrap Wind Farm.

The wind farm in South Sulawesi was developed by UPC Renewables and equipped with 2.5MW Siemens Gamesa turbines.

The project was opened by Indonesian President Joko Widodo, who said the sight of Sidrap’s turbines made him “feel like I’m in the Netherlands”, reported the Jakarta Post.
