The team advancing plans for Australia’s first offshore wind farm hopes to begin key investigations including Lidar deployment in the fourth quarter as the 2GW project moves up through the gears following a 2017 investment by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), said the executive leading the development.

The Star of the South project – 10-25km off the coast in the Bass Strait off the state of Victoria – aims to meet demand in centres including Melbourne, Australia’s second-largest city.
