Doosan Heavy Industries will lead a South Korean government-backed project to develop an 8MW offshore wind turbine that can serve growth at home and compete in global markets, the company announced.
The four-year project, backed by the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP), aims to produce a model suitable for conditions off the country’s coast that range from low wind speeds to typhoons, Doosan said.
