Finland’s Fortum strengthened its position in the nascent wind power market in Russia, winning the right to build 823MW in the country’s latest auction round in conjunction with local partner Rusnano.

The pair will receive a guaranteed power price equivalent to approximately €60-€90 ($71-$106) per MWh for 15 years, Fortum said in a statement.

A total of 830MW in capacity was on offer in this year's tender, and it wasn't immediately clear whether the remaining 7MW also were allocated.
