Canada’s Brookfield Renewable Partners (BEP) and its institutional backers have invested $650m into US-based yieldco TerraForm Power through a private share placement, allowing TerraForm to take control of Spain-based operator Saeta Yield.
BEP, part of the diverse family of companies controlled by Canada’s Brookfield Asset Management, had along with its backers acquired a 51% stake in TerraForm Power last year.
