US offshore developer Deepwater Wind has outlined the economic development benefits of its winning 400MW project in Rhode Island, pledging to invest $250m locally – including $40m into port facilities in Providence and Quonset Point.

Having emerged victorious last week with its Revolution Wind project in Rhode Island’s competitive offshore wind procurement process, Deepwater is committing heavily to jobs-creation in its home state, saying the project will lead to 800 temporary construction jobs and 50 long-term O&M positions.
