Facebook has signed a deal with Vattenfall over the delivery of 294MW of Norwegian wind power for its Nordic data centres.
Vattenfall will supply wind integration and balancing services for the power, generated from three projects at the Bjerkreim cluster in southwestern Norway owned by renewables investment group Luxcara, said a statement from the Swedish utility.
The power balancing agreement with Facebook represents Vattenfall’s largest such third-party deal in the Nordic region, it added.
