Lorry Wagner, president of Lake Erie Energy Development Corp (LEEDCo) – developer of the pioneering 21.7MW Icebreaker project off Cleveland, Ohio – expects to secure the last permit for the first freshwater offshore wind array in the Americas in the fall of 2018.

“Then it will take about two years until construction is completed,” so that the project will be in the water by late 2020, Wagner told Recharge on the sidelines of a panel on offshore wind in the Great Lakes, held at AWEA Windpower in Chicago.
