The pioneering Floatgen prototype this weekend began its journey from the French port of Saint-Nazaire, marking another big step forward for the fast-emerging floating wind sector.
Floatgen – France’s first offshore wind turbine of any type – left port on Sunday for installation and a two-year trial at the SEM-REV ocean-energy test site off Brittany, said the local authority in Saint-Nazaire.
