The 2MW platform was by far the most popular capacity rating among the 3,022 wind turbines installed last year by eight OEMs in the US, according to the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA).
Turbines with a rating between 2MW and 2.5MW totaled 2,689 units and led installations at the top three vendors Vestas, GE Renewable Energy and SiemensGamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE).
