The US Trade and Development Agency has awarded a grant to eleQtra Limitada for a study to assess the feasibility of building a 120MW wind farm in the Namaacha District in southern Mozambique.

EleQtra selected WorleyParsons Group, based in Houston, to conduct the feasibility study.

Lauren Thomas, regional manager of eleQtra, called the early-stage funding “critical” for the initiative.

The facility, if it advances, will be built in two 60MW phases.
