Turkey’s energy and natural resources ministry has identified potential zones for the country’s first offshore wind tender, the Daily Sabah newspaper says.

The ministry reportedly named the Saros gulf in the Aegean Sea off the Gelibolu peninsula in Çanakkale province, and a Black Sea area off Kıyıköy in the north-western Marmara province of Tekirdağ.

Both are relatively close to Istanbul, Turkey’s largest city with some 15 million inhabitants.
