Stiesdal Offshore Technologies (SOT) is closing in on installation of a first full-scale prototype of its TetraSpar concept, a floating wind turbine design that turns industrialisation of the technology on its head by starting from the piece-work of the platform and building out – and promises to “halve” the capital cost of current floater units being piloted around the world.
