India’s Suzlon has commissioned the flagship of its new S128 wind turbine, at the Sanganeri site in Tamil Nadu.

The new model, which flies 63-metre carbon-fiber blades and comes in 2.6MW to 2.8MW versions, is the largest yet erected in the India. Certification testing in slated to be complete by the third quarter.

“The S128 is going to be a revolutionary product in India,” said Suzlon Group chief executive JP Chalasani.
