Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) has extended its licensing deal with former joint venture partner Shanghai Electric to include its SG 8MW direct-drive offshore wind turbine.
Oliver Berendt, head of the OEM's liaison office in China, in an exclusive interview in December had already told Recharge that the Spanish-German manufacturer had extended the licensing deal beyond its 4MW and 6MW offshore turbines to the 7MW model, and had plans to negotiate a similar deal for the 8MW machine.
