Malaysian national electric utility Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has acquired an 80% stake in two renewable energy companies in the UK for £171m ($234m), expanding its overseas renewables portfolio.

TNB bought UK-based GVO Wind and Bluemerang Capital, marking its entry into the onshore wind sector in the country.

According to the state-owned utility, this acquisition is part of its five-year international expansion roadmap.
