France’s first competitive onshore wind auction saw 22 projects successfully bid for 500MW of capacity at an average weighted price of €65.4/MWh ($79.8/MWh), said the country’s energy ministry.
The bidding round was the first in a series of 500MW auctions planned by France over the next three years to spur 3GW of onshore wind development.
The winners get 20-years of support under a compensatory supplement mechanism.
