The exponential growth of the world’s wind power industry found further reflection in newly-released figures from the Global Wind Organisation (GWO), which has published a first annual report based on its Global Wind Industry Training Records Database (WINDA).

GWO, a non-profit organisation of wind OEMs promoting standardised safety training and emergency procedures, provided courses to 44,418 technicians from 135 countries last year, with training providers – including offshore energy and maritime specialists Falck and Maersk, and turbine-maker Siemens Gamesa – delivering over 52,000 GWO modules.
