Rocky Mountain Power (RMP), part of Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway conglomerate, will invest $1.5bn to construct four new wind projects totaling 1.31GW nameplate capacity in Wyoming.

After a request for proposals last September and a subsequent competitive bidding process, the electric utility opted to add power capacity in several ways.

PacifiCorp, parent company of RMP, will build, own and operate a 500MW project in Carbon and Albany Counties in southern Wyoming, and a 250MW facility in Carbon.
